Regarding COVID 19

March 18, 2020

It is clear by now, from both abroad and now within Pima County itself, that in these unprecedented times we must take unprecedented measures to keep ourselves and one another safe. Collectively, we have the power to reduce the negative impact of the current health pandemic to the best of our ability first and foremost by flattening the curve. Not sure what that means? I've included a few handy resources at the end of this email.

In short, taking cues from nations who have been dealing with this virus for weeks, we know that strict hygiene and social-distancing practices are our first and best defense. To that end, I have made the decision to temporarily close the doors to my practice (which is also my home and safe space). This was not an easy decision for me as a caregiver or a businessperson, but one which I am confident is the best as a citizen of this community. To be sure, I am not fearful for myself personally and would encourage each of you not to panic. Rather, we can choose to see this as an opportunity for us all to do our part in preventing the spread, to not be a vector, and to not put those high-risk populations that we love and care for at risk.

In lieu of seeing clients in my home office I will be offering both free virtual classes + paid sessions online for movement education, postural support, and other wellness strategies. Whether you are sequestered at home or you are supporting others during this time, self care is paramount for us all right now. Get lots of rest, good nutrition, and minimize physical contact with others as best you can.

Online classes and sessions will be available through an app called Zoom and instructions for access are forthcoming. In the meantime, please consider acting preventatively yourselves... Get lots of rest, good nutrition, and minimize physical contact with others as best you can. And remember there are lots of ways to continue your social engagement without physical contact.

Phone calls, video chats, a stroll through the park or even a hike are all wonderful options to keep our human connections thriving <3

With that said, I will remain available to those on an emergency basis. I am also happy to be a touchstone if you'd just like to chat and connect for a moment: 520-390-0379 (available 8am - 8pm by phone or text)

All my love and support,
Megan

PS: There are mutual aid networks currently building in Tucson around different demographics, needs and resources. At this time, there are neighborhood-oriented groups, needs-based groups as well as support-focused groups. If you are interested in volunteering resources to those in need, please contact me and I will try to point you toward the appropriate resource-collection/group.
