Fifth trip to Black Mesa...

October 20th, 2018

Sending deep deep gratitude to those heading out to Black Mesa to volunteer at our biannual Elder Wellness Week. Beginning Monday, bodyworkers, herbalists and support staff will provide no-cost care to the Diné (Navajo) elders as part of the Stone Cabin Collective. The clinic is held in this particular community as an act of solidarity with those who resisted forced relocation from Black Mesa in 1974. In exchange for their resistance, residents of this part of the Nation are denied water, power and road maintenance services. // I am incredibly sad not to be part of Elder Wellness Week this fall, as these clinics have come to be a truly rewarding experience each and every time; a gift. It is in pursuit of the sustainability of this and other projects though that I focus on establishing our non-profit, so that we may continue to exist. To grow and give and give. // If you are feeling in the giving spirit, please consider donating to the cause - each of our ~20 volunteers takes a week off work twice per year, many flying from as far as Philadelphia to provide support. Anything you can give is a blessing ♥️ https://www.gofundme.com/stone-cabin-collective
